Close All About ProbesAll About ProbesCatalog ProbesRNA Target Probes Made-to-OrderRNAscope® and Basescope™ ProbesThe RNAscope® and BaseScope™ Assays are based on the proprietary RNAscope ® Technology enabling RNA target expression analysis within intact cells and tissues with high sensitivity and specificity. Learn more about the difference between RNAscope® and BaseScope™ Assays.
Catalog and Made-to-Order ProbesUsing proprietary ACD RNAscope® Probe Design Pipeline, we provide double \"Z\" oligo probes designed to hybridize to your specific RNA target of interest. We can design in situ hybridization RNA probes for virtually ANY gene in ANY genome for visualization in ANY tissue or Cells.
Catalog Target ProbesPreviously designed and used by our customers, they can be shipped to you in approx. 2 weeks. Our catalog probes span over 13,000 RNA targets in over 140 species including human, mouse, rat, dog, cow, zebrafish, rabbit, pig, chicken, monkeys and over 100 viruses. Search and select from our over ever-growing catalog of in situ hybridization probe sets.
RNAscope® Made-to-Order Target ProbesNew probes for your gene of interest will be designed and manufactured in about 2 weeks.
Probe ExclusivityUnder certain conditions, ACD may agree to grant exclusivity to probes against \"proprietary and private\" targets for a fee. While ACD still owns the probe design for these targets, we are committed to not market these probes until the probe exclusivity is removed. Please talk to your account executive for further information.
Probe Name NomenclatureRNAscope® Probe Name NomenclatureProbe Probe TypeHs SpeciesFDXR Gene5UTR SpecificationC2 Amplification ChannelThese are three types of RNAscope probes. The type of probe is indicated as follows:
Probefor Manual Assays
LS Probefor Leica Systems automated assays
VS Probefor Ventana Systems automated assays
Species refers to the probe target species and implies that the probe is designed to the gene of the specified species. The species is typically identified by two letter designations such as \"Hs\" for Homo Sapiens, \"Mm\" for Mus musculus etc
This refers to the Official Gene Symbol as listed in the NCBI Database
This indicates any specific target region within the gene
This indicates the probe amplification channel denoted by C1, C2 or C3. RNAscope probes default to Channel 1 unless specified. This channel indicates the compatibility of the probes with different amplification systems and indicate which detection kits the probes would be compatible with.
C1 probes are compatible with all detection platforms
C2 probes are compatible only with the 2.5 HD Duplex Detection Kit and the Fluorescent Detection Kit
C3 channel probes are only compatible with the Fluorescent Detection Kit
Example 1LS Probe - Mm-Rspo3This probe used in Leica Automated System Assay(LS Probe) and is designed to hybridize to Mus musculus (Mm) Rspo3 gene. Its spectral channel is not listed which means Spectral Channel 1 and therefore compatible with any of the four manual asays including RNAscope® 2.5 HD Reagent Kit-BROWN, RNAscope® 2.5 HD Reagent Kit-RED, RNAscope® 2.5 HD Duplex Reagent Kit or RNAscope® Multiplex Fluorescent Reagent Kit.
Example 2Probe-Hs-GNRHR-5UTR-C2This is probe is designed to be used with a manual assay (Probe). It targets just the 5\' untranslated region (5UTR) of the GNRHR gene from the human sequence(Hs). This probe is compatible with spectral channel 2 (C2), so it can be used in a duplex or multiplex assay.
BaseScope™ Probe Name NomenclatureBA PlatformMm SpeciesNrg1 GeneE1E2 Sub-Type
The BaseScope™ Assay is a recent addition to the RNAscope® Technology product portfolio, launched in early 2016. Using the same innovative technology and proprietary probe design as used in the RNAscope Assay, the BaseScope Assay is further refined to detect as few as 1-4 Z pairs.
BaseScope technology enables the specific detection of mutations, exon junctions, short target sequences, highly homologous sequences, circular RNA and fusion genes with single molecule detection sensitivity in a broad range of tissues, samples and species. These sub-type helps classify probes for the intended applications.
As an example in this probe E1E2 designates that this probe spans across junction of Exon 1 and 2 of the NRG1 Gene
ExampleBaseScope™ Probe - BA-Dm-Gapdh1-3zzThis probe is compatible with Manual BaseScope™ assays and is designed to hybridize to Drosophila melanogaster Gapdh1 gene. The 3ZZ specifies the number of probe pairs and indicates this is a short target probe.
